The original draft of the Property Rights Resolution was presented to the Board of Supervisors (BOS) on May 14, 2013 after being given to the County Attorney and Board Chair on February 19, 2013 and was again discussed on July 23, 2013 at a work session. The Chairman subsequently determined that another work session was not needed. My proposed Property Rights Resolution, as revised based on the work session and citizen comments received, was discussed and voted down by a four to one vote at the September 24, 2013 Board of Supervisors' seven o'clock meeting. Thank you to those who attended and expressed their views.

I believe this resolution will enhance property rights, encourage citizen participation, strengthen our County's development process, and promote a better business climate for economic development. If implemented, I believe this resolution will help foster a more systematic, uniform, and consistent process for our County's development activities; and, ultimately will result in cost savings to the County and improved communications between developers, business owners, and our residential property owners.
